Montreal based model and entrepreneur, Samual Finn, has made a new record in Burpee workout. He took the challenge to perform a number of burpees in 12 hours time window. Samual had two agendas to take the challenge. He wanted to break the record of Michigan based martial artist Mike Berean who had made the Guinness World Record after doing 5,010 burpees in October 2019.
Samual also wanted to break the earlier record of raising money for the CEDAR Foundation which helps Canadian students to pursue high standard education.
He took around 12 hours to achieve both the goals. The time he spent in the burpee workout was painful and broke the Guinness World Record by performing 5,234 burpees. He also raised $54,515 through donations. Samual responded through his Instagram account and said that after five hours, he lost the sensitivity of his hands and feet due to redirection of blood in organs and muscles. He was worried to lose his toe. But he managed to make a promise to not stop.
Samual was preparing himself for this crazy workout for a long time. He had performed almost 45,500 burpees during training time. In June 2019, a man named Bryan Abell had also made the Guinness Burpee World Record after doing 4,689 burpees but this record was broken by Berean in October.
Berean’s pace was 417 burpees an hour while Samual’s pace was 436 burpees in an hour. Burpees workout is the extreme level of exercising. It causes pain in muscles, but has very effective results.
