A deck, which is an extension space beyond the four walls of a home, is a very attractive place to spend time with family. People often look for different kind of railings for deck space to give it a finished look. The project was earlier much complicated. But for now, it seems very easy to assemble the deck railings of your choice. Before executing the project, just make sure to check with your local planning and building department requirements that you should meet to build a deck railing.
Deck railings assembly starts with planning and preparation. Start with scaling your railings carefully to limit cutting and wastage that will help you to order accurate material you need. When planning the design of the railing, make sure the height of the top railing is minimum 900mm from the deck surface and the deck posts should not be more than 1800mm apart from each other. In addition, modern deck skirting spindles can be used for a raised deck. But the spindles for a raised deck could only be used for a minimum height of 600mm.
As you are giving a new design to your home, the life of your deck railing should be prolonged. Hence add two coats of preservatives at any cut ends or notches. To make sure your spindles are spaced properly, create an 81mm spacer by offcuts of the spindle. Once the railings are in place, it is recommended to add a coat of decking stain to enhance the beauty of the timber used in railings.
