Haiti immigrant Jemps D Thebaud is now a working fitness model, actor and brand ambassador in New york. This lovely man stands tall at 5’9, weighs 170 lbs and loves to play basketball. He is in love with his height and weight today as he has managed to build a fit body. His hard work on his body brought him modelling offers.
Today Jemps has worked with tons of designers, stylists and photographers participating in fashion shows, fitness shoots, modeling assignments and even completed 2 Haitian films and 3 films based in New York. He has walked the ramp in New York fashion week, walk fashion show , Brooklyn fashion week, Times square fashion show, Bronx fashion show, Long island fashion show, Macy’s Fashion show and Miami fashion week LA fashion confidently.
As a brand ambassador Jemps has been part of the Brooklyn cloth campaign and Brilliant Nyc campaign. Life changed for this model when he came down to his current physique from weighing 220 pounds once. The man has worked consistently on himself with dedication and sacrificing certain food habits to make his dream come true. Today he presents himself to the world as a confident professional. Featured on the covers of many magazines including Gmaromagazine, Jemps has got many achievements under his belt. The man can speak 3 languages haitian creole, French , and English and is learning Spanish. He moved to the US in 2011 and has worked in 3 movies- Wanted Dead, Drama of A Side Piece and Dear Dad.
It didn’t start easy for him as people were not ready to give him work as most of the models are 6 feet and above. But the man never lost faith and kept auditioning and meeting people. He says confidence and self belief has been instilled in him by his parents who always tell him, “what people say is not important, what is important is what God says and be confident and consistent and also enjoy what you’re doing”.
Today Jemps advises people to have a dream and never let others belittle your dream or “tell you your dream can’t come true.” When you fall, get back up and take the failure in your stride.
