GOG Galaxy 2.0, currently available in closed beta with the Steam launcher, might bring various other launchers into a single interface. The Epic Games Store, Origin, Uplay, Battle.net are some of the launchers which are fighting for launching the game. With the availability of GOG Galaxy 2 Game Launcher, people are really excited to play the game.
Currently, GOG is officially integrated with Xbox Live whereas the other launchers such as Battle.net, Epic, Origin, PlayStation Network, Steam, and Uplay have been available as community-created integrations. The two selections of “connect platforms” namely, “Official integrations” and “Community Integrations” can easily be selected from the drop-down menu. Depending on the game stats, platform, achievements and friend recommendations, all these integrations allow importing games into GOG’s monolith.
The import process takes only a couple of minutes and one can view all his games as per the subdivisions like platform, genre, installation status, etc. Along with it, there are custom tagging and rating systems available for organizational purposes. Players will have to install other launchers to play GOG Galaxy 2.0 as GOG doesn’t open games from within its ecosystem.
Other features promised by the company are impressive but these are currently not available in the game. The features namely, “cross-platform chat” and “one friends list” have been announced by the new launcher’s website. There is no announcement for the launch of fabled Friends List To End All Friends Lists features. All the integrations in GOG Galaxy 2.0 are based on open-source and allow the community to connect the host to other platforms.
