On episode 27, Tribe Mafia makes their debut appearance on Austin’s rising podcast ‘IDK, That’s Perfect?!’. This episode covers Tribe Mafia’s personality, touring, their musical influences and more!
Here’s a brief synopsis of Tribe Mafia:
Austin-born, Texas-based artists Tribe Mafia caught their first big break when their music video “Like Cola” took off on YouTube in 2019, but things got interesting when they met Akon and Toured with him to perform at the biggest Soccer Stadium in Sao Paolo, Brazil. The duo became friends and collaborators, and originally, a group of eight resulting in just the remaining members; Chinasa Broxton and Carlos Dashawn Daniels Moore. Recently signed with Sony/Indie Nation and got to work on two singles from their debut project Teepee Gang. The LP is executively produced, mixed and mastered by Two4flex and RJ Maine. It’s easy to imagine Tribe Mafia getting very big—before signing, they were already getting Drake, Travis Scott and Young Zerka comparisons and flexing the kind of songwriting that could produce commercial hits. But on their new music releases they kept things interesting with brilliant visuals, interesting production choices, and complexity that makes it clear this is about more than just trawling for hits. Tribe Mafia is the rare kind of talent who’s planted to strike the difficult balance between talent and convenience, like they do in their previous singles “Tempted To Touch.” “Testify,” “Like Cola” and “Hurt.”
