Solo entrepreneurship is one of the most significant hurdles that you can overcome. Some of the biggest obstacles are that it can be overwhelming as you need to access a steady stream of clients and deliver consistent quality products. Solo entrepreneurship can also be lonely as there is no built-in support system since you are in the business on your own. Some solo entrepreneurs have had to drop out of the race because of the hurdles.
Justin Goff is one of the solo entrepreneurs who have managed to scale to the top. He was motivated to pursue entrepreneurship because of the debts. He had a $1200 gambling debt and a rent due of $250. He started out by setting up a website to sell products. The website was ugly, and he did not feel like he would make any sale. However, he earned $149 from his first customer.
We had a chat with Justin to learn about the challenges of solo entrepreneurship and its thrills.
Starting Out As A Solo Entrepreneur
From the onset, Justin saw the online space as an excellent place for him to start out. He began with affiliate marketing, which he managed to scale from zero to six figures. Up to date, affiliate marketing is one of the most lucrative ventures online. In 2013 he was selling supplements at a site and founded the Patriot Health Institute. He built this solo operation to $1 million in revenue before selling it in the summer of 2014. After that, he pursued the fitness niche where he partnered with a fitness trainer and wrote an ebook dubbed “31 Day Fat Loss Cure” that instantly succeeded. He is also the brain behind marketing videos like “One weird way to lose 3lbs” ads online. In fact, Justin is the man behind some of the biggest marketing videos.
As a sole entrepreneur, Justin learned the challenges of keeping up with customer service. To ensure that his customers were going to get the best service, he decided to sell his company and continued building on his skills and that he would later use to propel his career even further.
Justin is a self-taught serial entrepreneur and consultant. He has worked with some of the biggest brands online, such as the Golden Hippo, VShred, Dan Lok, Paleohacks, Agora Financial, and more. His story is one of inspiration as he went from being broke, on the verge of moving back to live with his parents, to being a multimillionaire in under seven years. But he admits that the pursuit of success is not for the faint-hearted. For instance, when trying out Facebook ads, he initially made some losses before accruing profits.
Justin taught himself the online niche, including Facebook ads and digital marketing. One of the fields that he is expertly good at is Freelance copywriting, and was charging $250 for a sales page. These days, however, he charges between $50,000 and $150,000, including performance bonuses.
Some of the challenges that he experienced include long working hours. Justin admits that providing quality services to all his clients required him to work for long hours. Since he had no marketing experience and had not gone to school for copywriting, he had to work more than double to build his reputation as an expert freelance copywriter and sales funnel guru.
Currently, Justin is known as the Warren Buffett of sales. He has helped hundreds of companies bring in up to 1000 new customers per day through cold traffic. He has also helped companies optimize their sales funnel strategy to connect with their customers at every stage of the sales funnel.
The biggest thrill of solo entrepreneurship is financial freedom. Justin has been able to transition his life from an American in debt to a multimillionaire. This success has allowed him to travel across the U.S and around the world. Justin has also mentored others. He has helped several people transition from the 9 to 5 job to earning a six-figure income as freelancers.
Justin also helps online entrepreneurs and copywriters up their skills through a training program called Copy Accelerator. In this program, he teaches his students not only from experience but also from tried and tested techniques.
