Making Its Mark Without Chasing Trends- Art Comes First Takes A Unique Route

Powerful fashion statements can help stir hype among people and even sow the seeds of a ‘hot’ discussion. It is important to realize that clothing and fashion accessories are effective tools that can help people understand a different perspective and see the world from a unique viewpoint. Unfortunately, fashion brands do not realize the important part they play in the world. They focus more on chasing trends with closed eyes, rather than using their talent to make a difference in the world. These trends have existed for a long time, but it is time to change things around the fashion industry.

Not many people possess the quality of thinking out of the box. The designers are losing their charm since they do not have this skill. Modern consumers are always looking for fashion that reflects their personality, which is why they have stopped investing in mainstream fashion brands. Thankfully, a handful of fashion designers step into the industry with a mindset to provide the audience with something that they cherish for their lifetimes.

In this advanced age of fashion, it is not easy to impress the audience. It takes many skills, creativity, and expertise to develop something that the audience enjoys and appreciates. If a clothing brand reaches on top of the charts, it means that the minds behind the brand must be exceptional as they have been successful in creating an unforgettable impression. Among those few clothing brands is Arts Comes First – a brand led by two extraordinary minds, Sam Lambert and Shaka Maidoh.

The Combination Of A Power-Packed Duo

Established in 2010, Art Comes First is not just a clothing brand, but an artistic expression. Staging their mutual love for vintage clothing, Sam and Shaka have established Art Comes First as a platform to showcase their love, talent, and deep admiration for men’s clothing lines.

Sam was born in Angola, while Shaka belongs to West London. The two met through a mutual friend in London, which turned out to be in their favor. The duo bonded over their mutual interests in clothes, especially vintage, which was the beginning of a beautiful journey.

Sam and Shaka never chased the already existing trends. From the start, both of them had an imagination that helped them appear under the spotlight and different from the rest of the designers. They had the skills to think out of the ordinary and come up with designs that were a class apart. The drive to bring something unique in the world of men’s fashion, always motivated the two to adopt a diverse approach in fashion. The founders of Art Comes First initially started mixing and matching clothes with their office jobs, creating their own path. The brand grew and the clientele expanded from their close friends and family to outsiders. They realized the potential they held after which they decided to dedicate themselves to Art Comes First completely.

Art Comes First has gifted gems to the fashion industry in the form of their collections, proving the world the significance of bringing ‘uniqueness’ in the world of fashion. Starting from 2014’s Essentials and D.A.N.C.E to 2020’s El Charro Negro Collection, Art Comes First’s designs have been nothing but a fashion statement that has taken the fashion world by a storm.  Sam and Shaka have made grooming an effortless activity through their phenomenal sense of creativity. They not only create designs but also style statements that bring so much more than style to the industry.

Taking Creativity To Another Level

The dynamic fashion collective has used its brand platform not just to exhibit their craftsmanship and elegance but also to shed light on society’s sensitive issues. Through their fashion collective called ‘Blues’ that is yet to be launched, the fashion-designer duo, has highlighted the extreme violence and racism that is on the rise in society. Art Comes First’s ability to stand with the people and share their feelings is what makes this brand unique in its own way.

The duo defines A.C.F. as an “Ancient Culture Footstep.” They draw inspiration from music, craft, traditions, and cultures, which is why its brand collections are so different from the rest of the brands. “Every designer is a frustrated rock star, so since most of us couldn’t do music, the scissors are the instrument we perform with,” explains Shaka.

The London-based collective truly believes in the power of collaboration. Complex Con 2018 with Avery Dennison, Art Comes First x Fred Perry Rocksteady Capsule, and Albinism with Zona Maco are some of Art Comes First’s many collaborations with prominent designers with their belief to learn through the process.

Being referred to as ‘international style icons of the highest level’ is just one of the many accomplishments the duo has acquired up till now. With their witty yet thoughtful designs, Sam and Shaka have made a mark in the fashion industry, which has enabled them to spread the roots of their ‘iconic’ fashion across nine other cities besides London.

Sam and Shaka’s paths were meant to cross for a reason, and they have utilized this coincidence in the most beautiful manner, gifting the world with Art Comes First. The contribution of the power-packed duo to the fashion industry is immeasurable. The designs of the brand are monochromatic and well-refined that are as catchy to the soul as they are to the audience’s eyes. Art Comes First, with its out of the box approach towards fashion, has gained global recognition and a worldwide fan base.
