The former first lady is in news from time to time. And even after her husband left the office, she still voices her opinion publicly, and takes stand. While many of us laud her for her unflinching stand on national subjects, she made an admission that shocked us.
She admitted that having kids made her and husband drift away. In an interview with Gayle King, she talked about how having children cuts off the intimacy between partners. Now, that her children are away from home, she and her husband finally spend quality time.
She expressed- “This is the beauty of finding a partner you really love and respect- because after all the highs and lows, the ups and downs we’ve been through, we have each other, which makes the journey worth it. Marriage is all nice and cute but then kids show up and take up all the oxygen in the land. That’s why they make the babies cute because you would leave them at the post office.”
She also praised her husband, the former President of United States Barack Obama– “My husband is my teammate and if we are going to win this game together, he has to be strong and he has to be OK with me being strong.”
Now, that her daughter Sasha and Malia left home for further studies, she says they both have enough time on their hands. The couple is the most looked up couple, and they shared how they are taking time bonding again.
Other than her admission, she also released a video recently which very classily rebutted Trump. Donald Trump goes after Barack and Michelle Obama during interview, and made a scathing comment on the city of Baltimore. He said the city was- “disgusting, rat and rodent infested mess.”
But Michelle Obama defended Baltimore, in her new video. In the video a woman dances and says- “When someone is cruel or act like a bully you do not stoop to their level. And Michelle replies to her in the video and says- “Our motto is……”, the dance group replies with- “When they go low, we go high, Raise our standards to the sky.”
A very well-mannered rebuttal by the former first lady indeed.
