Everyone is well aware of the power of music. Most of the people like to listen to upbeat music that makes them feel good. Music affects the mind and soul. Listening to songs that make you sad regularly can lead to depression, and listening to fast track songs can make you feel happy and positive.
How does this happen? It is in science. When a person listens to music with frequencies from 8 – 14 hertz or cycles per second, then the brain generates an alpha wave. Alpha wave is the wave that causes relaxation in the body and mind. It induces relaxation in those who hear it.
Those who hear to the music with a frequency of 5 hertz, their brain produces a delta wave. The delta wave can induce sleep and relaxation in the hearer. Research states that if one listens to music with 5-hertz frequency for 45 minutes, then the person can fall asleep.
However, this research also states that one must not listen to relaxation music you don’t like. It is better to change the track and try something different. Listening to relaxation music that irritates you won’t relax you but will hurt you further.
Researcher at Stanford University says that music can be a relaxation tool. It is as effective as medicines. Those who can’t buy medicines can listen to music at some of the best ambient radio stations and reduce stress.
Particular types of sounds relax the mind. Native American, Celtic, Indian stringed-instruments, drums, and flutes when played a bit loud can produce soothing music. Nature sounds like rain, and thunder can also provide relaxation music if a couple with jass and classical music.
More and more people are testing the use of music to release stress rather than taking medicines.
