Several Taylor University graduates and faculty members left the graduation auditorium right before Vice President Mike Pence started his address to the graduating class.
About forty snowflakes and leftist faculty members pitched a royal fit after the University management refused to rescind the Vice President’s invitation to their graduation ceremony. A number of the students who joined the group claimed they felt a personal attack while others claimed to feel unsafe at their graduation immediately as they learned of Mike Pence’s invitation. There is however no record of the vice president harming any student during the ceremony.
Laura Rathburn, one of the graduates, claimed to be disappointed that its Mike Pence that was chosen to speak at the commencement event. She believes that his presence at the ceremony made others feel unwelcome to the event.
The protesting students were allowed to return and participate in the rest of the events after the vice president’s speech, and few graduates preferred not to shake the vice president’s hand after receiving their diplomas.
In vice President Mike Pence’s speech, he referred to the embittered graduates as “hateful; petulant snowflakes behaved like a bunch of ill-tempered, heathen jackasses.”
He further went on to reiterate his belief that plenty of parents will feel horrible at the un-Christ-like behavior and that the act was because they were improperly raised.
However, a larger percentage of the graduating students warmly received the vice president with some of them donning a shirt with “I Like Mike” printed on it.
