TeamTrees.store is one of its kind. It is producing fabric using renewable energy. The company follows the practice of organic farming to grow cotton. Instead of using artificial pesticides and fertilizers they prefer using organic fertilizers like cow poo. This in turn increases the biodiversity and leads to the extra soft feel of the products.
Cotton is a thirsty crop and no matter how less the amount of fertilizers you use, it needs water. That’s the reason TeamTrees.store grows the plants in North India where there is plenty of rainfall.
Teamtrees.store is a big flag bearer of renewable energy. That’s why it does not waste even a single part of the cotton plant after ginning. After the process, the waste seeds are pressed into cakes which are sold for organic cow feed. And vegetable oil is squeezed out till last drop for use in food products. No single part of the plant is wasted.
Water is also wasted during production. Wastewater is one of the major pollutants from dye house and is a major source of pollution in the clothing industry.
The products at #Teamtrees are made in partnership with Teemill. These products are dyed, and after that, the water is recovered, cleaned and recirculated. After skimming and settling, the water is filtered using reverse osmosis and distillation.
Then salt is added back in so that the dye adheres, and the waste is left over. By this process, about 95% of the water is recirculated and recovered. Water recovered from this process is clean and drinkable as well.
With all the process being renewable, it makes the product environment-friendly. That’s why customers are loving the products offered by TeamTrees.store. It is a sustainable way to buy new clothes and decrease their contribution to the carbon footprint.
