Rell G is the stage name of Darrell Reynolds Jr., who was born in Chicago, Illinois. He was raised there but is now living in Gary, Indiana. Rell G is not someone you would expect to be going into the music scene. But his love for music is evident from his love for musicians like 2Pac and Biggie.
He grew up listening to them. And he knew he was into music since he was 5. Darrell did not have an easy life. He joined the army when he was young. He worked in the military for eight long years. After that, making music feels like freedom, he says.
Darrell shared his experience that he has been through a lot that would break some people. But he keeps moving forward in life. He wants to set an example for his sons.
When he was in school, he decided to perform in stage for the first time. He admits he was scared, but he decided people are either going to love it or hate it. There is no in-between. So, he just went for it and performed.
Since then, he has a soft spot for music. After coming out of the army, he created music and is focusing on making it a full-time career. He even received the best new artist of the year 2019 for the Seattle Sound Music awards.
Currently, he is working on his new single “Girl I” feat Talon along with more singles for the summer. All these singles will be a part of his self titled Album “Rell G”. Darrell is all set to take the rap world by storm, and it seems he is here to stay.
